]]> <![CDATA[How it is Organized?]]>

An 11-man Board of Directors composed of 10 elective directors and the Immediate Past President manages the Makati Jaycees. The board is the policy and decision making body of the organization. It is composed of three (3) divisions; Operations, Development and Programs, each headed by a Vice President. Each division has several ad hoc standing committees called “commissions”.

]]> <![CDATA[Kinds of Membership]]>

 

Baby Jaycees
 aspiring members, between 21-38 years of age are called “Baby Jaycees”. They must fulfill certain requirements to be inducted as Regular Members.

Regular Members
 after fulfilling the requirements, Baby Jaycees becomes Regular Members and can remain as such until they reach the age of 40.

Associate Members
 Regular Members who reach the age of 40 become Associate Members. They continue to help the organization but may not run from office.

Sustaining Members
 Any firm, or former Regular Members who subscribes to the Jaycee Creed and assist the organization may be conferred as sustaining membership.

necessary to create positive change.]]> <![CDATA[History of Junior Chamber International]]> The origin of Junior Chamber can be traced as far back as 1910 to the city of St. Louis, Missouri, in the United States of America. A young man named Henry Giessenbier and his friends formed the Herculaneum Dance Club with the main objective being the preservation of conservative dance styles.

Five years later, in 1915, Colonel H.N. Morgan, a prominent St. Louis citizen, inspired the members of the dance club to become more involved in civic issues. Giessenbier and 32 other young men formed the Young Men's Progressive Civic Association (YMPCA) on October 13, 1915. ]]> <![CDATA[The Junior Chamber International - Makati (Philippines)]]> The JCI - Makati (Makati Jaycees) is an active and effective leadership organization in the progressive business community in the city of Makati, Philippines. It was organized on 14th day of March 1964 with Marcos Aragon as its first president. Over the years, the chapter has produced many outstanding projects adapted by the local and national government and contributed its share of officers to the national and regional Jaycee organizations.
 
 Since Makati Jaycees allows only male members, Makati Princess Urduja, a counterpart chapter for the female jaycees was formed. In addition, senior members of the Makati Jaycees maintain their links with the movement and have acquired honorary membership as JCI Senators in the formation of the Makati Jaycee Senate.
 
 In 1986, the Senators decided to formally incorporate as the Makati Jaycees Senate Foundation, Inc. and held their first formal induction of officers in 1986.
]]> <![CDATA[The Untold Story]]> The Story of The Junior Chamber of Makati, Inc. was conceived during an organizational meeting at the La Castallana Restaurant in December of 1963 wherein Jose Luis Abad of Caloocan Jaycees envisioned the birth of another chapter. With this idea, a membership of fifty dynamic young bloods from different walks of life thru the leadership of Marcos B. Aragon marked the birth of the Junior Chamber of Makati commonly known as the MAKATI JAYCEES on March 14, 1964.]]>
