JCI Makati Spends a Productive Weekend for 2018 Strategic Planning and Team Building

On November 4, JCI Makati members and Board of Directors gathered for their 2018 Strategic Planning and Teambuilding. It was held at the JCI Makati “hub,” Ramen Metro, where they also meet for their weekly learning and fellowship meeting dubbed as “H.U.B. Night.”

Incoming President Pocholo Gonzales conducts New Member Orientation
Incoming JCI Makati President Pocholo “The VoiceMaster” Gonzales presided the planning, which started with the New Member’s Orientation for those who recently joined the chapter. They were introduced to the history, story, and culture of JCI, and were also given the opportunity to introduce themselves and their personal advocacy. The orientation also introduced and refreshed everyone on JCI’s vision, mission and core values.
The planning proper was facilitated by Ada Cuaresma, one of the trainers of Pochology Academy. She led the group to an icebreaker, and then started the planning with a mini-workshop on creating the vision, mission and strategies of an organization. The group was then broken into “task forces” to focus on 3 impact areas for JCI Makati: projects, training and membership. Each task force were tasked to come up with a blueprint for their corresponding impact area, which will be the basis of implementation of future initiatives.

After the breakout session, the task force members shared to the group the outline of their blueprint. What followed was a fruitful and meaningful discussion of each impact area, as the other groups shared their inputs on how each blueprint can be improved. Each participant then took turns in sharing what they have learned and will commit to doing for JCI Makati.
The planning session ended with a declaration, led by incoming Secretary General KC Cordova, that JCI Makati members commit to embrace and promote a culture of giving, sharing, loving and caring. The declaration was written and signed individually by the members.

MISSION: To help, unify and bridge empowered young Filipinos to create a flow of initiatives that promote positive social change

JCI Makati - Teacher Fe - Education Under the Bridge

Teacher Fe - Education Under the Bridge

Greetings Makati Jaycees!

I am excited for our meeting this Wednesday, as our guest speaker is a good friend who is both a teacher and a volunteer: Teacher Fe Lustanas.

Teacher Fe, as she is popularly known, is a public school teacher in Paranaque, and is the founder of "Journey of Hope," an advocacy that aims to provide education for all, including out of school youth, over-aged pupils and adults. She is a recipient of the Gawad Geny Lopez Jr. Bayaning Pilipinong Guro Award in 2015.

She will be sharing with us her 2 advocacy programs: "Education Under the Bridge" and "Kids and Parents Education of Kabayani Community Training Center."

I'm positive that Teacher Fe's presentation will awaken the volunteer inside all of us so that we can affect positive change in the society.

See you all!
